Summer Challenge - Peaches

Hey guys!

I'm so sorry that I've been so bad about blogging lately! Since camping two weekends ago I've been using OPI Nail Envy to restore my nails. The pealing is getting better, now I'm just waiting for my thumb nail to grow back since it broke pretty far down the nail. So frustrating.

Also, I'm going to New York with one of my best friends tomorrow for fun. I'm so excited! I haven't been to New York since I was about 13 or 14, so it'll be awesome to go back and experience it as an adult. But needless to say, I won't be posting anything until I'm back. Thanks for being so patient with me! I love you all! <3

Now on to today's mani. This is my third look for the Hobby Polish Bloggers Step Into Summer Challenge. The theme is "Favorite Summer Fruit." Click the Read More link below to see the full post and more photos!

Just to recap, here are all 8 themes for the Summer Challenge. I've only done 3 so far... eek! I have some catching up to do!

Peaches are by far my favorite fruit ever! I really love all fruit... but peaches... mmmm. I almost didn't do them for this challenge though because I knew if I tried to paint peaches on my nails, they would just end up looking like little blobs. But then I found inspiration from this lovely fruit in its beautiful colors!

I started with a base of two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. Then I put blobs of each color on the nail one by one and swirled it around using a small brush dipped in acetone. I like the watercolor effect that I got using this acetone technique. It was my first time trying it and I love it! The colors didn't blend into each other quite as smoothly as I had planned, but that's okay! Next time I try this technique, I'll work on it!

The shades I used for the peach-inspired colors are OPI Red Light Ahead... Where? (orange-red), Essie Tart Deco (orangey-coral), and Zoya Creamy (yellow).

I topped off the look with a coat of Seche Vite top coat to even it all out. Here's the final result!

So what do you guys think?? Do you get the peachy vibe I was going for? Don't forget to check out all the other submissions for the Step Into Summer Challenge using the links below! It makes me so happy that so many ladies are participating. =)

As always, thanks for reading! I hope you have an amazing rest of the week and weekend!
