Cirque Vesuvius

Hey guys!

I know what you're thinking... three polish posts in three days? What's going on?! I'm really trying to be more consistent about my posting, so this week I'm going to try and post every day! We'll see how that goes.

Anyway, today I want to show you another Cirque polish that I got when I was in New York. Vesuvius was also released as part of the new Arcus collection this year.  It's a strawberry shade that leans more pink than red, and it has a very strong linear holo effect. This bad boy out in the sun is mind-blowing gorgeous and oh so rainbow-y. I really love it! Definitely happy with this choice.

Application was easy-breezy. Only took two effortless coats to reach full opacity. I didn't add any top coat for the photos below.

Indoors, natural light.

Shade.
What do you think of Vesuvius? I swear I can never get tired of holo polishes like this. Another amazing shade from Cirque. =)

I hope you have a beautiful day!

Cirque Queen Majesty

Hey guys!

I hope you enjoyed my post yesterday for piCture pOlish Blog Fest 2013! I was so happy to be a part of it. If you like my design, I would really appreciate your vote! The bloggers with the highest votes get to design a collaboration shade with piCture pOlish. How amazing would that be?! Visit this page and type in "Polished Prescription" in the comments section if you'd like to vote for me =)

Today I have a gorgeous Cirque polish to show you called Queen Majesty. While I was in New York, of course I had to stop by the only store in the country that sells Cirque polishes, International Playground. I asked Amy over at Gotham Polish for some places to check out while I was in New York, and she was so sweet and gave me a whole list, including International Playground! It was really awesome seeing a whole wall of Cirque polishes. It was hard to control myself, but I'm proud to say that I only bought four polishes. Go me! Haha.

Queen Majesty is the first of the Cirque polishes I bought during my trip that I'd like to show you. It was released as part of the new Arcus collection that came out a couple months ago. Queen Majesty consists predominantly of royal purple glitter with prominent blue glitter mixed in. In some lights, this polish reads completely purple, while in different lights it leans more blue. Application was pretty easy. It flowed nicely on the nail and didn't take too long to dry. I used 3 coats for full opacity. I also used piCture pOlish Revolution as my base coat so that removal would be easier, since this is a glitter after all.

Let me just tell you that this polish is absolutely gorgeous. I don't think pictures can truly capture the true sparkly purple-y beauty that is Queen Majesty. Especially out in the sun, this baby really sparkles. It's amazing!

So here's three coats of Queen Majesty with a healthy serving of top coat to smooth it all out.

So what do you guys think of Queen Majesty? Do you like glittery polishes like this? If you haven't tried Cirque before, I definitely recommend it. So far my experience has been amazing, and I've loved all of the Cirque polishes I've tried. Stay tuned to see the rest of the polishes I picked up on my trip!

I hope you all have an amazing day! Thanks for stopping by =)

Hey guys!!

*Product(s) provided for my honest review

UPDATE: If you'd like to vote for your favorite look from Blog Fest, visit this page and type in your vote in the Comments section! Of course, if you vote for Polished Prescription, thank you so much for your support! <3

I'm so excited to show you this post today! A couple of months ago, piCture pOlish announced on their Facebook page that they were taking submissions for the 2013 Blog Fest. I was so surprised and ecstatic when I received the e-mail saying that Polished Prescription was chosen. In case you haven't noticed by now, PP is my favorite brand - everything from their formula to the colors to the little details like the shape of the holo particles is absolutely amazing. So of course I was so so excited! And now the day has finally come to show you the beauties that PP sent me as well as some nail art I did with them and a tutorial.

This year, piCture pOlish was so generous and sent not one, not two, but three, that's right, three, polishes! Eeek! I received Demeter, Tiffany, and Frosting. Click the Read More link below to see the full post. Brace yourself, this is a very long post!

Summertime

Hey guys!

I'm so sorry for my absence these past couple of weeks. New York was absolutely INCREDIBLE and I'm honestly considering doing my residency there. There's just so much to do at all times of the day and night, and I love being able to walk everywhere.

It's funny... I thought during the summer I would have so much free time for blogging. Turns out I really don't, and it feels like I have even less time to devote to my blog than I do during the school year! Weird, huh? I've just been so busy doing research at the hospital and enjoying the nice weather outside, whether it be hiking, the beach, the park, whatever! So yeah, just wanted to apologize for being kind of MIA. I've still be checking everyone's blogs regularly on my phone, I just haven't been on my laptop too much. Which is actually a really nice break for me. School starts again next week so I'm sure once that happens I'll be back to blogging regularly.

I have a really exciting post scheduled for tonight, so be sure to check back later!

For now, here are a few pictures from my trip!

Times Square

Reservoir at Central Park

Top of the Empire State Building

Brooklyn Bridge at night

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great day, and don't forget to check back later!

Summer Challenge - Peaches

Hey guys!

I'm so sorry that I've been so bad about blogging lately! Since camping two weekends ago I've been using OPI Nail Envy to restore my nails. The pealing is getting better, now I'm just waiting for my thumb nail to grow back since it broke pretty far down the nail. So frustrating.

Also, I'm going to New York with one of my best friends tomorrow for fun. I'm so excited! I haven't been to New York since I was about 13 or 14, so it'll be awesome to go back and experience it as an adult. But needless to say, I won't be posting anything until I'm back. Thanks for being so patient with me! I love you all! <3

Now on to today's mani. This is my third look for the Hobby Polish Bloggers Step Into Summer Challenge. The theme is "Favorite Summer Fruit." Click the Read More link below to see the full post and more photos!

Happy 4th of July!!

Hey guys!

Happy 4th of July!! I hope everyone has the day off and gets to spend some fun in the sun with friends and family! One of my best friends is having a barbeque at her house and we're going to swim and eat all day! I'm stoked! Still don't know where I'm going to watch fireworks but I guess that's to be determined later on.

I created two looks in the spirit of Independence Day. Both manis featured Zoya Liberty (matte blue sparkle PixieDust), OPI An Affair in Red Square (amazing red shimmer), and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

For this first mani, I was going for a more literal American flag. I used striping tape to create the lines. But man, do I dislike striping tape. It just takes so much precision, patience, and time. All of which I don't have too much. I prefer freehanding lines, even if they don't turn out perfect. As usual, I was too impatient to wait for the red polish to completely dry before putting on top coat. So of course the lines smudged. I definitely wasn't surprised. I like how this turned out - it's so patriotic and I think Liberty makes the whole mani really pop. But I had no desire to repeat the striping tape process on my right hand, so my thumb, pointer, and middle fingers were quickly met with acetone after I took this picture. I also didn't do any cleanup... sorry for the messiness!

Here's the second look. No striping tape required. Much easier. Not quite as patriotic, but satisfactorily festive.

Isn't Liberty so pretty?? I'm obsessed.

I hope that you all have an amazing day!

KBShimmer Don't Pink Twice and Grayscale

Hey guys!

Sorry for my absence recently! I camped in Yosemite this weekend with some friends and had such an amazing time! We hiked all day, swam in the river, climbed to a waterfall... so much fun outside. And looking up at the stars at night was breathtaking. Needless to say, I'm still so happy! If you like the outdoors then I definitely recommend checking out Yosemite if you've never been there... it's absolutely beautiful.

The only problem (if you could even call it a problem...) was the damage done to my nails. I wanted to take a before and after picture, because my nails were literally perfect and in the best shape of their lives before I left on Friday. But now a couple are broken and there's still some residual dirt. Sad. But it was so worth it, and I'll just nurse them back to health. I'm lucky they grow so fast!

Okay, now on to today's polishes! The two I'm showing you today were both recently released as part of KBShimmer's Summer 2013 collection. These are the first two KBShimmer polishes I've ever tried... and wow! I can't believe I haven't tried them sooner! Click the Read More link below to see swatches of Don't Pink Twice and Grayscale.
