Lime Crime Parfait Day

Hey guys!

Sorry for my lack of posting recently! I've been really busy with research I'm doing this summer, and I'm getting ready to go camping in Yosemite this weekend! I'm so excited, but have so much to do in terms of getting work done and packing and everything. So I'll probably be kind of quiet for the next few days. Hopefully next week I'll be back at it!

Today I want to show you one of my favorite pink polishes, Lime Crime Parfait Day! Parfait Day was released as part of Lime Crime's summer collection last year called Les Desserts D'Antoinette. I think that was Lime Crime's only polish collection thus far, correct me if I'm wrong. After trying Parfait Day, I now want to try all of the polishes from this collection! They're all so bright and fun!

Parfait Day is a blue based pink creme. But it's slightly warmer than most pinks like this, which makes it stand out. I love how it manages to be pastel while at the same time so bright. It's also really girly without being a Barbie pink. And one of the best features of all is that it makes me look really tan! No complaints there =D

The formula was okay. It was thick and slightly difficult to work with, but nothing so unbearable that I won't use it again. I used two careful thick coats for the photos below, no topcoat.

Sun.

Shade.

Natural light.

What do you guys think of Parfait Day? Is it a pink polish you'd go for? I hope you have an amazing day! Thanks for stopping by!

Vintage Summer Roses and Essie Turquoise and Caicos

Hey guys!

Happy Friday! I can't believe it's already been two weeks of summer for me... it's going by way too fast! But at least I've been getting a lot of fun in for my last summer ever. Yesterday I went for a run on the beach. It was amazing!

Today the look I want to show you is some floral nail art that I've been wanting to do for a while. I love things that look vintage, hence the design I'm showing you today and the color scheme. Click the Read More link to see the full post!

Summer Challenge - Gradient

Hey guys!

Today I have another look for the Step Into Summer Challenge to show you! This week, I chose to do gradient nails. The first time I ever attempted to do a gradient (here), it turned out amazing. And it was so easy to do. But it's never been quite so easy for me since then. I think the first time I did it, all the shades had great formulas and just worked really well together. My gradient that I'm showing you today didn't turn out the best in terms of being a nice smooth gradient, but it did form the base of a mani I ended up really loving! Cadillacquer I Wish I Was the Moon

Hey guys!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! My dad is out of town, so yesterday my mom and I decided to do something anyway. It was a nice mother-daughter Father's Day... haha! We went to Santa Barbara and the weather was incredible!

Today I have another polish by Cadillacquer to show you called I Wish I Was the Moon. If you missed my first Cadillacquer review, you can check it out here

I Wish I Was the Moon is another amazing glitter-filled jelly polish. It has a medium dusty blue jelly base with "iridescent square and hex glitters and very small purple iridescent glitter" as described on Cadillacquer's Etsy shop. Not only do I love the color of the blue base... but those glitters. Omg... they're gorgeous! Their iridescent quality makes them so mesmerizing to look at. Add the jelly base and you have one amazing polish! It has so much depth to it, I love how it looks like the glitters are floating. And I like that there are square glitters! Yay!

I really really love how this polish looks. It's definitely more subtle than other polishes I own like this, which makes it a nice addition to my collection. It's much more wearable on a daily basis. Although I don't care too much about how bright my nails look in the hospital, if I did feel like being a little more toned down, I would totally rock this!

But the formula is where I Wish I Was the Moon disappoints me. It's not so bad that I won't ever use it, but it was kind of frustrating to work with, at least at first. It has a pretty stringy, gooey consistency that caused some spring-back on the nail. This also had to be applied in thin and as few strokes as possible. Any more manipulation and the polish was like "nuh uh!" But after polishing all my nails with it, I started to get the hang of it, and it wasn't so bad. Just not amazing like the formula of Remember Me!

Without further ado, here's three coats of I Wish I Was the Moon with one coat of SV to top it off.

LOOK AT THE GLITTER! WAA!

Shade.

So there you have it! Yet another beautiful polish in this world of never-ending polish possibilities. What do you guys think? Like it or no? Personally, I love it! Despite the silly formula.

I hope everyone has a lovely Monday! Thanks for stopping by =)

Summer Challenge - Pink Neon

Hey guys!

It's the weekend! Yay! Does anyone have any exciting plans? I might go camping tomorrow night... still not sure yet. I'm also going hiking in a bit to a really cool place that has an underground waterfall... it's beautiful! And it feels like the weather is going to be perfect today. =D

I have my second mani for the Hobby Polish Bloggers Step Into Summer Challenge to show you today. If you missed my first ikat skittle mani, you can check it out here. This second theme is all about neon, and when I received my first ever KBShimmer polishes in the mail this week, I knew I had to showcase them somehow! piCture pOlish Splash

Hi guys!

How is everyone's week going so far? I can't believe it's already Thursday... the week has just flown by! For me, at least haha. If it's been dragging on for you, don't worry! The weekend is almost here. Yee!

Today I have another gorgeous piCture pOlish glitter topper to show you! I don't know if you've noticed, but I bought quite a few PP shades a few weeks ago when Harlow & Co and Llarowe restocked them. And to be honest, I've been so happy with all of them! PP has quickly become my new favorite brands. I can't wait to try even more of their polishes. Especially the holos, since they do them so well. The glitter I have to show you today is called Splash. Summer Challenge - Skittle Mani and Ikat Print

Hey guys!

Happy Monday! I'm so happy that it's finally officially my summer break! I can't even express how nice it is to not have anything to really worry about for a little while. Bungee jumping this weekend was amazing, and I got to spend time with a lot of my friends that I haven't been able to see much since starting med school! So basically, I'm super happy. Haha. Definitely starting the summer off right. =D

For June and July, the Hobby Polish Bloggers have created another challenge! Yay! It's called Step Into Summer and features 8 different prompts that can be completed at any time throughout June/July. So if you want to participate, please do! The more, the merrier!

My first look was supposed to be a skittle mani, but I had a lot of trouble coming up with ideas for some reason. Despite my creative struggles, my design turned into an ikat print that I ended up loving! So even though I really didn't successfully complete a skittle manicure, it led me to something better and a design that I've never tried before, so I consider it a success regardless! piCture pOlish Ocean

Hey guys!

I'm so sorry for my recent absence on here! I have my final cumulative exam tomorrow and then I'll be done with my first year of medical school! I honestly can't wait. I've been feeling like it's summer for the past month or so, and it's been really hard to sit inside and study with the beautiful sun shining outside. But now, I won't have to resist the temptation anymore! I'm starting my summer with a bang by going bungee jumping on Sunday with a bunch friends. It's gonna be awesome!

The polish I want to show you today is another killer shade from piCture pOlish. It was newly released a couple months ago along with two other new shades, Hope and Shocked. Ocean is such a beautiful polish! Click the read more link to see (lots of) photos and my review!

Quick Update!

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to apologize for my lack of posts during the last week! I had two big exams last Thursday and Friday (both of which I passed.. woot!), and this Friday I have my final cumulative exam. We're going to be tested on material that we learned throughout the entire year, which is so much it's kind of crazy. But that's okay! I've been studying hard and reviewing all of my old notes, so I think I'll be in good shape by the time the test rolls around.

Hence the reason I haven't been posting regularly. Or commenting on anyone's posts really. So I'm sorry for my absence, and I miss you all!

For now, here's a picture of my way too adorable kitty named Snowball who's hanging out with/laying on top of her Squirrel friend.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by. I'll be posting much more regularly once I'm finally done with the semester. I can't wait!

I hope you have a beautiful day!
