Some Springy Flower Nail Art

Hey guys!

I know I've been out of the loop for a while... and I'm really sad about that! School got really crazy once we started learning hematology and neurology, and the last thing I wanted to do by the end of the day was look at my computer.

But my nail polish addiction has by no means subsided whatsoever, and I have still been stalking all the nail blogs on my blog news feed on a daily (hourly?) basis. And I have still been doing my nails, but not nearly as often as I would like because the dry weather of winter took its toll... the many months it took me to restore my nails to good health last year went down the drain, and I now have horrible peeling on most of my nails. I've been taking week long breaks of no nail polish, and it's sad. But hopefully with some TLC and my CND solar cuticle oil, I'll be able to remedy my sad, sad nails. It'll just take some time and patience, which I don't have much of.

Anyway, no more of that nonsense! On to the mani. I did this look over a month ago because I wanted something cheery and bright after all of the darker vampy shades we were seeing for fall/winter. And the weather was starting to get warm, so of course I was inspired. Click the "Read More" link to see the rest of the post!

For this look, I used two coats of Essie Where's My Chauffeur?, which was released as part of Essie's Winter 2012 collection. I absolutely LOVE this shade! But then again, I always fall for shades like this. Where's My Chauffeur? is a vibrant blue-leaning turquoise creme with the slightest dusty quality to it that makes it unique. Most of the shades that I own like this are either much more green-dominant (think Essie Turquoise and Caicos), or much more blue. This went on really well in two creamy coats, and there wasn't any streaking like you'd expect from Essie and/or a color like this.

The flowers were actually really simple! All I used were some dotting tools for the flowers and a small brush for the leaves. I love the variety of looks that can be created with dotting tools - they can make really complex and aesthetic designs, but they're so easy to use!

Here are the polishes I used:
- Essie Play Date (light purple)
- OPI Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI? (dark purple)
- China Glaze Exotic Encounters (green)
- OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (white)

And here's the final product. Pictures were taken outside on a cloudy day.

I really love all of the floral nail art we've seen popping up for spring/summer! There are so many great new shades coming out in the newest summer collections, I just want to keep doing a bunch of flower manicures! And I just might do that, once my nails are in a little better condition than they are now.

I'm sad that I haven't been able to nurture my new baby blog like I want to, but I'm really going to make an effort to post a little more regularly, if only once per week.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks for stopping by!
