Zoya Zara Swatch and Review

Hey guys!

Happy Sunday!  Is everyone gearing up for the Super Bowl? I could care less about football, but I'm excited for a fun day with friends and lots of food! I'm making a huge bowl of my famous guacamole, and Lily is going to barbeque.  I can't wait!

Sorry for the sparse amount of posts last week (I think there was only one...), I definitely had intended to do more.  All of a sudden my school work really picked up, and I was busy exploring some research opportunities.  But that by no means prevented me from polishing my nails on an almost daily basis as usual, and of course I took pictures!

Today I want to show you one of my new favorite polishes, Zoya Zara!  This is one of the many polishes I got in Zoya's 3 Free promotion.  I've been eying Zara online for a while, but I was unsure about how this mid-toned purple would look with my skin tone.  It's almost the same shade of purple as Essie PlayDate, which looks horrible on me... it kind of blends in with my pale/medium-toned skin.  But I'm very happy to say that Zara, with all it's shimmering glory, looks great!  It's such a beautiful shade that I've added to my unwritten list of favorite polishes.  Click on the link below for more pictures and a review!

Zara is a medium purple/lavendar shade with gorgeous copper/orange/red and green shimmer!  Overall the effect of the shimmer is an orange-gold flash especially in the sun, but up close you can really see the green and orange in there, and all of the colors together make for a beautiful combo. This polish is absolutely gorgeous, and I couldn't stop staring at my nails, inside and outside. I can't even explain why I love it so much... I just think the color and the shimmer are perfect in every way! Hopefully the pictures speak for themselves.

The formula was on the thin side, but it wasn't difficult to work with by any means. The first and second coats were a bit sheer, but the third coat did the trick and made Zara completely saturated and opaque. I used one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat only because I wore this mani for a couple of days (shocker! =O), but Zara was very shiny on its own.

Bottle shot, indoors.

Please ignore my friend's striped shirt in the background :p

Indoors.

Also, I know this is kind of random, but I loved how Zara looked with this blue opal and gold ring I got in Israel.  I think the colors look lovely together!

So what do you guys think of Zara? I think it's just perfect for spring/summer, and I'm sure I'll be reaching for it a lot in the upcoming months!

Thanks for stopping by Polished Prescription, and I hope everyone has a fun and food-filled Super Bowl Sunday!
