Valentine's Day: OPI My Vampire is Buff and a Rose

Hey guys!

Happy Valentine's Day! Does anyone have any exciting plans? I had class earlier, but I think tonight my boyfriend and I are going to go to the beach with my roommate and her boyfriend. The weather's been great, so it shouldn't be too cold! I usually don't like to make a big deal out of Valentine's Day, so I'm glad we're doing something simple, sweet, and lowkey.

The manicure I have for you today isn't super Valentines-y, but I still think it's appropriate for today! I used one of my new favorite polishes, OPI My Vampire is Buff, and my amazingly talented roommate painted a single rose on the ring finger on my right hand. Valentine's Mani #1: Polka Dots... Mattified!

Hey guys!

I'm so sorry for not posting in so long! All of a sudden school got pretty hectic, and I have a big test on Hematology coming up next week. And, damn, blogging takes a lot of time and hard work! But I'm not going to give up, although posts may be more sparse than I would like. I have so much respect for all you ladies out there that write amazing posts and do awesome nail art on a consistent basis. Even though I've been preoccupied with school, I've still been doing my nails everyday, so I have a lot of pictures of swatches that I'll post soon.

Today, I want to show you my first Valentine's Day manicure! But first let me tell you about my dotting tools. I've been wanting dotting tools for a while, and on January 8 I finally decided to buy them (10 different sizes for only 6 bucks on Amazon!). After 3 weeks had gone by, I realized I still hadn't gotten them in the mail yet! All the while I was coming up with a bunch of polka dot mani ideas in my head, checking the mail everyday hoping a little package would appear in my mailbox. I think my roommate heard me talk about these elusive dotting tools everyday! But finally, on Monday, over a month after I had placed my order, I found a small little packet in the mail. I had almost given up hope and thought they were never going to come! But alas, they finally got here, and of course I had to use them right away!

So today's post is of my first Valentine's Day nails using the much-anticipated dotting tools that I got. I think the polka dots actually came out pretty good for a first attempt, and you best believe I'll be featuring a lot of polka dots in the future. I love how easy the tools are to use, and there are so many different designs you can make! AH! STOKED!

a England Dragon

Hey guys!

Did you have a fun weekend? I definitely did! It was really relaxing and I got a lot of good, quality friend and family time in, which is always really nice.  And Lily's Super Bowl party was so much fun! She's literally the best party host ever... I think she only sat down for a total of two minutes because she was busy buzzing around tending to all her guests. We all ate so much I was SO full... ugh!  It also makes sense then that she's the best hostess ever... if there was a #1 hostess in American award, I would vote for her!

Another great thing about her party besides all the great food was that there were a few girls there who love nail polish! I always get so excited when I find people that want to talk about nails and obsess over them. It literally makes my day. I was really glad I was wearing such a beautiful shade that day too, and it's the polish I'm going to show you today!

It's called Dragon by a England, and... LOVE.  Absolutely LOVE. Click on the link below to see more pictures and a review!

Zoya Zara Swatch and Review

Hey guys!

Happy Sunday!  Is everyone gearing up for the Super Bowl? I could care less about football, but I'm excited for a fun day with friends and lots of food! I'm making a huge bowl of my famous guacamole, and Lily is going to barbeque.  I can't wait!

Sorry for the sparse amount of posts last week (I think there was only one...), I definitely had intended to do more.  All of a sudden my school work really picked up, and I was busy exploring some research opportunities.  But that by no means prevented me from polishing my nails on an almost daily basis as usual, and of course I took pictures!

Today I want to show you one of my new favorite polishes, Zoya Zara!  This is one of the many polishes I got in Zoya's 3 Free promotion.  I've been eying Zara online for a while, but I was unsure about how this mid-toned purple would look with my skin tone.  It's almost the same shade of purple as Essie PlayDate, which looks horrible on me... it kind of blends in with my pale/medium-toned skin.  But I'm very happy to say that Zara, with all it's shimmering glory, looks great!  It's such a beautiful shade that I've added to my unwritten list of favorite polishes.  Click on the link below for more pictures and a review!

Zoya Nyx Swatch and Review

Hey guys!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. =) Mine was great! I was really productive on Friday and Saturday and got caught up with everything for school, and Saturday night I went out for Lily's birthday. She turned 23 last week! It's crazy to think that we met 12 years ago in 6th grade math class.  We both played tennis and had the same shirt from Abercrombie and Fitch (yeah, that's how long ago it was) that said "Love means nothing in tennis," and one day we both wore it and that's how we started talking! So cute I know. Haha.  Just wanted to give a shout out to my bestie because I love her. <3

Now that that's out of the way, we can talk about polish!  Yesterday after I had already had my daily dose of polishing, a package came.  And it was from Zoya! Finally! I ordered my free polishes before the promotion officially started, but I expected it to take a while to ship because I got Nyx from the new PixieDust collection, which wasn't technically supposed to be released until February 1.  So of course, I had to take my polish off right away so I could try out Nyx.  And I love it!!

Zoya FeiFei

Hey guys!

Can you believe it's almost the weekend already?? I wish every week was only four days... I feel like this week has just flown by! And I love it.  I really really do.

Today I wanna show you the notorious Zoya FeiFei.  I just got this polish in the Zoya 3-Free promotion (along with many other polishes).   FeiFei was released this past fall as part of Zoya's Diva collection, and it immediately received a lot of buzz.  It's such a unique and complex shade - I've never seen anything like it!  And it's made of so many different colors it's almost impossible to accurately describe.  As you can see in the photos below, FeiFei is a chameleon and changes its dominant color depending on the lighting.  Click on the link below for a detailed description and more pictures!

OPI Diva of Geneva

Hey guys!

Did everyone have a good 3-day weekend?  I know I did!  Camping was really really REALLY cold at night, and I almost froze until my friend showed up and saved the day with warm sleeping bags in the middle of the night.  She was seriously a lifesaver.  The weather was pretty decent out during the day though, and the place we went was amazing!  There were a bunch of huge crazy rock formations everywhere and it was fun climbing all over them.  I was really cautious when it came to my nails though - I didn't want to break any of them!  They got a little dry because of the cold weather and the fact that we were in the desert, but it's nothing that some CND Solar Oil couldn't remedy.  But anyway, long story short, I had a really good weekend camping, and now I'm ready to start the week.

Now on to the nail polish.  Today the color I'm showing you is one of my old favorites, OPI Diva of Geneva.  It was released as part of OPI's Swiss collection in 2010.   Click on the link below to see more photos and my thoughts about this beauty!
