Zoya FeiFei

Hey guys!

Can you believe it's almost the weekend already?? I wish every week was only four days... I feel like this week has just flown by! And I love it.  I really really do.

Today I wanna show you the notorious Zoya FeiFei.  I just got this polish in the Zoya 3-Free promotion (along with many other polishes).   FeiFei was released this past fall as part of Zoya's Diva collection, and it immediately received a lot of buzz.  It's such a unique and complex shade - I've never seen anything like it!  And it's made of so many different colors it's almost impossible to accurately describe.  As you can see in the photos below, FeiFei is a chameleon and changes its dominant color depending on the lighting.  Click on the link below for a detailed description and more pictures!

FeiFei is a glass-fleck medium steel blue / slate / dark silvery-grey color.  But there's so much more to it than that.  It's a duochrome that looks pink when the sun hits it just right, and it's filled with so many different colors of glitter.  I see yellow, pink, green, and orange-y/gold, and in the light, all of the colors really come out!  This polish is extremely complex and I noticed that I kept staring at my nails when I was outside, trying to see every little detail and thought that was put into this polish.  It's definitely unique to my stash, and I haven't really seen any other shades quite like this one!

The formula was pretty sheer, but it was easy to work with and build on the previous coats.  I was satisfied with 3 thin coats, but I added a 4th coat on my left hand to see if it made a difference.  The 4th coat made the polish completely opaque, but the difference between 3 and 4 coats is hardly noticeable.

I took a lot of pictures of FeiFei because I wanted to capture how it looks in different light and at different angles.  I don't think pictures can truly capture how multi-dimensional this polish is, but I tried!  As you can see in the photos below, the color ranges from an almost solid silver/grey shimmer to an explosion of multi-colored glitter in a blue/grey base.

Also, camping took a toll on my skin this weekend, so please ignore my dry skin and cuticles... I know they're not too aesthetically pleasing.  I've been applying some cuticle oil and I'm nursing them back to health and hydration!

This first group of pictures is my left hand, with four coats of FeiFei and one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri on top.

Early morning sunlight, looks predominantly blue with some grey.

Shade, looks predominantly silver/slate grey.

Direct sunlight.  Can you see that duochrome??

Macro shot.  You can really see all the different colored glass flecks.

These next couple of pictures are my right hand, with 3 coats of FeiFei and  one coat of topcoat.

Shade.  Looks predominantly blue.

Direct sunlight.  Look at the sparkles!!!

As unique and interesting as this polish is, I don't think I'm *in love* with it.  I really do like it, and I love staring at it, but it's just not my favorite kind of shade to wear on my nails.  I'm not much of a silver/grey polish-wearer, and I'm also not a huge fan of metallic-y finishes (FeiFei looks metallic in some light).  But that's okay, and I'm still really happy with this polish.  It's definitely one you have to see in person to truly appreciate.  I love how much thought Zoya seems to put into their collections and individual polishes.

So what do you think of FeiFei? Have you tried it?  Anyone else get some new polishes during the Zoya promotion?  Expect to see a lot of Zoya swatches in the near future. =)

As always, thanks for stopping by!
