Today I want to show you a new polish from Cirque, a brand that is new to me and relatively new to the polish world, and a brand that has absolutely impressed me. I have only ordered 2 polishes from Cirque (I will show you Cypress in a later post), but that's all I needed to be a believer. Both polishes I ordered are from Cirque's newest Objet D'Art Collection. Click Read More to see my review and more pics!
This first polish is called XX (twenty) because it is made of 20 different types of holographic rainbow glitter particles in a slightly shimmery clear base. This polish is AMAZING! There are so many different types of bright glitter in here - I can see large turquoise and pink hexagons, smaller yellow and green glitter shapes, and so many more I can't even describe them all! The colors are dominantly pastel, and look great over a dark or light base (as you can see in the images below)! The pictures I have cannot even begin to capture how beautiful XX truly is, as it's hard to photograph the flashes of holographic glitter that you can only see in person.
Here is one thick layer of XX over OPI Russian Navy, with two coats of Seche Vite as top coat to help smooth out the texture:
This second set of pictures was actually my New Year's mani! What better way to bring in the new year than to have amazing holographic glitter all over your nails? Here, I layered a thinner, less dense coat of XX over a lighter base, Zoya Megan, a light grey creme. I used two coats of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri over this manicure instead of S.V., since Zoya and S.V. notoriously don't get along. The last picture was taken in the sun.
Removal was a little difficult with this polish as with most glitters, but nothing that the foil method couldn't handle!
I really like Cirque polishes so far, and I definitely think they're worth the slightly higher price tag. All their polishes are 3-free (don't contain toluene, formaldehyde, or dibutyl phthalate) and are hand-made in New York by creator Annie Pham. You can check out Cirque polishes on their website www.cirquecolors.com. Most polishes, like XX, retail for $13, but most of the holographic polishes retail for $15.
So what do you guys think of XX?
Thanks for stopping by!
