NOTD: China Glaze Exotic Encounters

Hey guys!

Happy Tuesday!  Yesterday was my first day back at class after two amazing weeks of winter break.  It was really nice having the opportunity to relax and not worry about school for a little bit, as well as be able to see all my friends that I don't get to see too often because my schedule is so hectic.  But now it's back to the grind, and I already have a test coming up on Monday!

Now on to the polish.  Today I want to show you the polish that I'm currently wearing.  I've been so into holos and glitters lately that I wanted something simple and clean, but still interesting, if even just for a day or two.

Exotic Encounters is from China Glaze's On Safari collection that was released last summer.  I picked this up a while ago and just got around to wearing it!  Exotic Encounters is a dusty, green-leaning, teal creme.  Being a lover of blues and greens, I love this polish!  It definitely stands out, in my opinion, and somehow manages to be bright and dark at the same time.

The formula was slightly on the thicker side, but it still went on easily and was fully opaque in 2 coats.  I probably could have stopped at just one coat if I was more careful.

Indoors and in the shade, Exotic Encounters looks like a medium-dark dusty green.  Outside in the sun, this polish is a bright beautiful teal color!

These first two photos were taken outdoors in sunlight:

This photo was taken in the shade, and you can see that it looks a little greener.

This last photo was taken indoors in natural light.  You can see how much the color pops!

So what do you guys think of this polish? I really like it and I think it's perfect for fall and winter!  This was a nice creme polish to take a break from all the glitters and holos I've been wearing.  But knowing me, I'll be back at it in a day or two.

Thanks for reading!

  1. I just discovered your blog and love that its run by two friends. Will you be adding a GFC widget to your blog? I would love to follow you that way. :) Also, Exotic Encounters looks great on you! It was my favorite from the Safari collection. ^^

  2. Thank you so much Liz!! I just looked at your blog and I love your swatches! I will definitely start following =)

What is GFC? We're new to the blogging world so any suggestions are great and highly appreciated!

  3. GFC (Google Friend Connect) is one of the ways your readers can follow your blog. It's a little widget, and you can click "join this site" to follow. This will allow you to see new posts from your favorite blogs in Blogger or Google Reader. That way you don't have to keep bookmarking them. You can add this widget by logging in to blogger, going to 'layout' for your blog and clicking 'add gadget'. A new window will pop open. Scroll down and you'll see one labeled 'Followers'. Click the '+' sign and you're done! People usually add it to their sidebar. Hope this helps! :)

  4. I adore this polish!!
It's my favourite teal polish of all times!

Would you please consider to remove the word recognition part where you have to type letters and numbers in order to prove that you are not a robot...?
You never see what is says and you will probably get a lot more comments if you remove it :)

    1. It really is such a pretty polish... it's very unique as well.

And yes! I just removed the word recognition, thanks for letting me know! I thought I had already done it because I always get those things wrong because they're so hard to read!

I make sure to respond to every single one because I think this nail blogging community should be a collaborative one, and I love meeting and interacting with other nail polish addicts! Please don't post links to your blog on here, but if you'd like me to check it out, please email me at polishedprescription@gmail.com. Happy Commenting =)
